Juliana Farm, owned by Joel and Julie Njoroge Gakubu, has a rich history based on a long family tradition of coffee growing. Joel inherited the farm from his father who had been growing coffee since 1980. Together with his siblings, Joel continues the family legacy - growing coffee and supplying it to the farmer cooperative (FCS) where traceability is maintained throughout processing.
For the future, Joel and Julia have a clear vision: to continue producing and processing fine coffee. By focusing on choice coffee, they can showcase the unique flavors that the coffee acquires thanks to the local microclimate and their growing efforts.
The farm operates largely through the work of the family, mostly Joel and Julie, who are assisted by other family members. Together, they work tirelessly to manage and oversee the farm and strive to maintain a sustainable approach so that the coffee trees can continue to produce for generations to come. They also hire workers during the peak season to support the increased workload.
